Define Your Fear!

No matter where we are in our life, we all have fear of something.  Although we have been conditioned, over time, to believe we can’t have what we want, maybe it’s a fear of not living a fulfilled life.  Maybe it’s a fear of something not happening versus something actually happening.

When we are young, we have all kinds of dreams and aspirations.  Ah, the joy of being young and not “beaten down”.  But as we grow older, society tends to narrow our vision and we tend to “conform” so that we don’t look any different than the rest of our miserable co-workers.

Conformity…What a horrible place to be!

There are various definitions of fear, but the one I like the best is…False Expectations Appearing Real.

Check out this very short, 5 minute video from 4 Hour Work Week author Tim Ferriss.  It offers a quick way to conquer a fear you have so that you can start on your journey to happiness and success.

Big Brother Is Watching!

Whether you own a business, want to own a business, are employed or unemployed (I think that covers just about everyone!), you will want to read today’s blog.  It’s Friday, I just flew my last leg of the trip and am about to catch my commute flight home.  I’m sitting in the crew lounge waiting, so thought I would throw this out there.

We have seen it all over the news, innocent comments in Social Media cause pain and discomfort for the “poster” and create unintended consequences.  Find out how you can avoid any future PAIN!

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend.  I plan to get some work done in the office this afternoon, then relax with Mrs. Adams and make a nice dinner for our 2 foreign exchange program girls.  They leave to go back to Korea tomorrow.  Tomorrow a buddy of mine and I are going to pick up his small airplane from it’s annual maintenance check and fly it around for awhile.  Can’t seem to stay out of airplanes!

Slow Down, Do More!

Hey everyone, in a bit of a hurry this morning, I’m on a layover in Atlanta and have to bounce out to the jet and fly a bunch of happy passengers down to New Orleans.  But, I would be remiss if I didn’t keep my promise and offer a little nugget of knowledge today.  Here’s a reprint from a recent Success Magazine email I got.

Slow Down to Do More

We all suffer the mid-afternoon slump: that lethargic, lack-of-motivation apathy that sets in and kicks our internal engine to idle. Instead of willing yourself to sludge through it slowly and painfully, do the opposite. Embrace it. Give yourself permission to take a 5 or 10 minute mental break.

Still frustrated with yourself and your productivity? Consider slowing down instead of speeding up, author Loretta LaRoche says. Our brain functions better and is more productive when it focuses on one particular task at a time. So, instead of beating yourself up to speed up and get more accomplished, focus on one goal, complete it and go on to another.

“Frustration stems from your inner critic and only serves to make us crazed,” LaRoche says. “Have fun. There are no tombstones that say, ‘Did everything, died anyway.’”
